Cord Anchor

How It Works

The cord is looped through and around one prong that is attached and hinged on to the outlet cover. The cord is then plugged into the outlet. The device eliminates tension on the cord and plug and prevents the cord from being pulled out of the outlets. Installs easily by replacing current outlet cover and screws, with Cord Anchor and screws provided.

How It Works

The cord is looped through and around the prongs and then plugged into the outlet. The device eliminates tension on the cord and plug and prevents the cord from being pulled out of the outlets. Installs easily with two deck screws and a cordless screwdriver. Attach deck screws into wall stud or framing located next to an electrical outlet or receptacle. Do NOT attach to any electrical outlet or receptacle.

Inspiration

The inspiration for the design was realized after attending an OSHA safety class. In the class, pictures of damaged electrical outlets were shown. The contractor responsible for the damage had been cited due to safety related issues. The design is intended to prevent these issues from occurring and increase the safety of power outlets.
